Monster Hunter Stories’ Latest Trailer Shows Off Rider Styles and Habitats

Recommended Videos

Capcom TV, the Japanese bi-weekly online show, has offered a rather substantial Monster Hunter Stories trailer with this week’s installment. While much of the footage from the game up until this point has focused on the Otomen partners people will be able to ride, this almost three minute video offers a look at some story encounters and the various sets of armor our Riders will be able to equip throughout the game.

In addition to new kinds of attire, this Monster Hunter Stories looks at some of the locations our Riders will visit. There’s a traditional home, a hot spring, a castle town, a library, ruins, and forest villages. The footage ends with a tease of a gigantic monster leaping out of a pool of lava. I’m not exactly certain of what it is, but the shadowy glimpses remind me of Monster Hunter Generations’ Hellblade Glavenus.

Monster Hunter Stories will come to the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on October 8, 2016.
