The first Nijisanji crossover appeared in PSO2: New Genesis in February 2023. It featured Kaida Haru, Hakase Fuyuki, Hoshikawa Sara, and the English VTuber Shu Yamino. A limited-time scratch ticket lineup would appear during the collaboration period, where players can gather avatar parts and voice sets based on each VTuber.

The second collab period will have even more interactions from the VTubers. In mid-February 2024, Kokoro, Kei, Mao, and Rena will visit Creative Spaces made by users who won a contest that Sega had previously held.

Sega has also shared a new roadmap for updates in the first half of 2024. It revealed a new monthly wave of crossover content after The Seven Deadly Sins in January 2024 and Nijisanji in February 2024. It will feature an anime based on shonen manga in April 2024, a non-Sega game in May 2024, a science fiction anime show in June 2024, and an anime based on light novel in July 2024.

In the same program, the series producer Yuya Kimura also revealed a teaser trailer for a major update in June 2024. Kimura’s team will add a new field area and a new action system featuring new devices that resemble SUV weapons from prior Phantasy Star entries.
