It is a rather big moment for people who helped back the Muv-Luv series’ Kickstarter. The project’s latest update has gotten into the supplemental side-stories’ release. Muv-Luv Photonflowers is now in a beta state. People who backed at the appropriate level can get a code to start playing. Also, Muv-Luv Photonmelodies’ translation progress is still ongoing.
Muv-Luv Photonflowers and Muv-Luv Photonmelodies were a $720,000 stretch goal for the Kickstarter campaign, to give people a chance to get what were formerly PlayStation 3-exclusive story collections available in English. Those who pledged $125 toward the All-Digital Bundle had these two compilations added to their rewards.
In Muv-Luv Photonflowers, people get access to 12 additional stories. Of those, six are prologues to Muv-Luv Extra (found in Muv-Luv), one is a Sumika epilogue for the Muv-Luv Extra storyline, and the other five look at characters from Muv-Luv Alternative.
Here is the official summary for Muv-Luv Photonflowers’ stories from the March 15, 2019 Kickstarter update.
From the Extra universe:
- An extensive epilogue to Sumika’s ending from Muv-Luv Extra
- Six individual ministories from the perspectives of the game’s main heroines, taking place prior to the events of Muv-Luv Extra
From the world of Alternative:
- Three stories that shed new light on the events and characters introduced in Muv-Luv Alternative, including backstories for Captain Isumi and Sergeant Jinguuji
- Two ministories featuring all-new characters that expand upon Alternative’s war-torn alternate reality by exploring the unique perspectives of the unsung heroes and supporting players in the war against the BETA
A release date isn’t available for Muv-Luv Photonmelodies yet. The update noted that the team has been working on the localization “for several months” so far. However, we do know that Muv-Luv Photonflowers will come to PCs in 2019.
Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternative are immediately available for the PlayStation Vita and PC.
