New Like a Dragon: Ishin Trailer Explains Why Ryoma Joins the Shinsengumi

Like a Dragon: Ishin takes familiar characters from the Yakuza series and places them in the time of the Shinsengumi. The situation there mirrors the one in the original Yakuza, what with the lead being framed for a murder he didn’t commit and then needing to search for the truth. A new trailer offers insight into what’s going on. It begins by introducing Ryoma Sakamoto, then showing how he becomes Shinsengumi member Hajime Saito. Things begin by showing how Ryoma returned to Tosa. He’s there to begin working with Toyo Yoshida to remove class distinctions and promote equality. However, during a meeting to discuss this, he’s assassinated. People assume Ryoma is to blame, as he’s found with the body. Ryoma manages to escape and heads to Kyoto. There, he aims to join the Shinsengumi. He notes that he memorized the fighting style of the assassin and hopes to uncover the culprit by joining the group as Hajime. From there, we see him also interact with many other individuals who may help or hurt his cause. As someone can guess, they all resemble characters from the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bh83wVDmUcI&ab_channel=SEGA Previously, Sega and Ryu ga Gotoku went over some new features in the game. Ryoma can use Trooper Cards in the game. Two of those cards will feature Kenny Omega and Rahul Kohli. Like a Dragon: Ishin will come to the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on February 21, 2023. If someone pre-orders digitally, they can start playing on February 17, 2023.
