Nintendo 3DS Gets Free-To-Play Steel Diver Game

Steel Diver is getting a new game, and this one will take place from a first-person viewpoint. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata described it as a “contemplative FPS,” due to its slower pace as compared to regular first-person shooters.

The game will include 4-on-4 team battles in both local or online multiplayer. The game will be released as both a paid download as well as a free game.

The free version will allow you to play the beginning of single-player mode (the first two missions) as well as the entire multiplayer mode. The paid version will give you access to the full single-player mode.

Steel Diver: Sub Wars will be available via the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS today.
