While a Switch successor is planned, President Furukawa didn’t give any information during the latest press conference held on November 7, 2023. Furukawa mentioned that recent online rumors about a successor are inaccurate. The rumors of a successor refer to recent reports regarding Nintendo showing a Switch successor console at various closed doors presentations during Gamescom 2023, held between August 23-27, 2023.

The latest Nintendo financial report for the current fiscal year ending in March 2024 showed an increase in the sales of hardware and software, with titles like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom reaching 19.5 million units shipped worldwide. The current focus of the company is on continuing to consolidate sales of the Nintendo Switch system throughout the Holiday 2023 season.

Future Nintendo titles planned to appear throughout 2024 include Princess Peach: Showtime! , a Switch remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, a new Mario vs. Donkey Kong title, and an HD port of Luigi’s Mansion 2. Additionally, Nintendo is topping off the current year 2023 with an upcoming remake of Super Mario RPG, as well as the recently released Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and WarioWare: Move It!
