Nintendo Is Helping Atlus With Shin Megami Tensei IV And Etrian Odyssey IV In Korea

Nintendo of Korea will publish Shin Megami Tensei IV in South Korea and the game will be a retail title. Atlus titles actually have a decent following in Korea since games like Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne and the Persona titles were fully localized in Korean. This was back on the PS2, years before other JRPG publishers invested in Korean localizations, which are more common this generation. Shin Megami Tensei IV will be available on November 9 for 49,000 won ($46).

Etrian Odyssey IV is being handled in a unique way. The game will not be localized in Korean, but Nintendo of Korea will release both the English and Japanese versions of Etrian Odyssey IV as separate Nintendo eShop downloads. Each version costs 33,000 won ($30). Etrian Odyssey IV is the only game in Korea with two versions. Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy, Project X Zone, and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate only have the English versions on the eShop.
