Multiple Japanese blogs are reporting that, at a retailer meeting conducted in Japan earlier today, Nintendo announced a Super Mario Collection Special Pack for the Wii, dated for October 21st and priced at 2,500 yen.

So, just what is the Super Mario Collection Special Pack? Outside of Japan, it’s known as Super Mario All-Stars — a collection featuring remakes of Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, and Super Mario Bros. 3. It even includes the original Japanese version of Super Mario Bros. 2, under the title Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels.

Originally released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, All-Stars featured graphical enhancements and the ability to save. The “Special Collection” being released for the Wii will include a Super Mario History 1985 – 2010 booklet featuring previously unpublished development material and facts spanning Mario’s 25 year history.

Also included in the pack will be a soundtrack CD, containing background music ranging from Super Mario Bros. on the NES through Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the Wii.

We aren’t sure whether this version of All-Stars will include Super Mario World or not.

Update: Super Mario Collection Special Pack is official. It’s on Nintendo’s October release calendar dated for October 21.
