Not the final version of Final Fantasy

This article is over 17 years old and may contain outdated information

After showcasing the MSX version of Final Fantasy, an unreleased version of the NES game was found at a garage sale. This prototype is a more literal translation of the game where monsters are named after their Japanese counterparts. The imps are goblins and the wizards are called demons. It’s possible that these changes were imposed on Final Fantasy due to Nintendo’s strict rules. Or it could be that this build was a direct translation and was later localized to better suit a Western audience. If you look really closely at the screens and you’re a big enough Final Fantasy fan you’ll notice a typo. Can you find it?
