Earlier this month I mentioned Success Corp’s Nintendo DS lineup, which appeared to have the interesting addition of Livedoor licenses. I was right on target. Success announced two Nintendo DS games scheduled to come out on July 24 and both of them are using characters designed by Rareko, the creator of Kuwagata Tsunami and Yawarka Sensha. Both of them are also puzzle games.
Kuwagata Tsunami Kuttsuke! Tsunami Hako is on the left and it has something to do with blocks as seen in the image. Also hako means block, so it’s a pretty safe bet. Touch de Taikyaku Yawaraka Sensha is described as a puchi puchi action puzzle. Puchi puchi is the onomatopoeia for bubble wrap popping. Maybe you’re popping or squishing the soft tanks?
I understand that most readers will be unfamiliar with these characters, but this is kind of like a lesser version of seeing a Strongbad game for Japan. Perhaps, that will put this post in perspective. Anyways, with game development costs rising companies are thinking outside of the box when it comes to licensing. Who knows when someone will develop a video game staring LOLcats.
