Overgrowth is designed with creating tense combat situations in mind, having players use their ninja rabbit to exchange blows in hand-to-hand combat, sneak up on foes, or steal weapons during frantic melee.
Overgrowth, nine years in the making, will offer some deep, challenging battles between the player and the other animal martial artists in the game’s world. Players can execute an array of kicks, punches, and throws at various heights, looking for holes in their opponent’s attack and defense to figure out whether to kick their head, punch them in the gut, or sweep the leg. Foes will quickly adapt their own fighting style based on what the player does, though, so players will need to vary their attacks often to win.
Players don’t have to mix things up in hand-to-hand, though. They are free to sneak up on foes and execute them using stealth, or steal weapons from foes during a scrap, hurling them at other enemies or using them to cut down their original owners with ease. Should players die while trying this, they can freely respawn without loading, trying something new to see if that works better in that fight.
Overgrowth offers a full story mode for players to work through, as well as years worth of player mods for players to try out.
