Some amiibos are more useful when it comes to unlocking game content than others. Take the Mario amiibo which works with Mario Party 10, One Piece: Super Grand Battle X, and of course Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS. Amiibos for third party characters like Mega Man and Sonic don’t appear to be used as much as Nintendo characters.
Pac-Man sits in the middle. While he is a Bandai Namco character, Bandai Namco Studios developed the latest Super Smash Bros. games and are the first third party developer to support amiibos in their games. Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy Plus has planes that can be unlocked with the Mario, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Fox McCloud, Captain Falcon, and Pac-Man amiibos.
Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy Plus comes out on January 29 in Japan and February 10 in North America.
