Phantom Breaker: Battlegrounds Is A Throwback To Arcade Beat ‘Em Ups

5pb is bringing four of the female fighters from Phantom Breaker into a Scott Pilgrim vs. The World style beat ’em up game. Up to four players can pummel enemies with Mikoto, Itsuki, Yuzuha, and Waka.

Phantom Breaker: Battlegrounds is slated for release in 2013 as an Xbox Live Arcade download. While the game has only been announced for Japan, there aren’t any Japan-only XBLA titles so this is most likely coming to the West. 7Sixty will release Phantom Breaker in North America later this year. The game was delayed for bug fixing and it looks like it slipped past the tentative May release window too.
