In Japan, The Pokemon Company has an array of different Pokemon costumes for various events. Pikachu ones are common, Eevee, Slowpoke, and even Alolan Sandslash have their own designs. But now, ahead of Jump Festa 2020 and Next Generation World Hobby Fair 2020, Pokemon Obstagoon attire has been revealed.

The Pokemon Obstagoon mascot costumes were revealed in two brief videos. In the first, a poor Pikachu is attempting to get into The Pokemon Company offices, but two Obstagoons are blocking the way in the same way as a Team Yell member would.

Fortunately, this saga has a happy ending. While initially Pikachu thinks that they won’t be able to get past the duo, we see the three become fast friends in the second clip.

It is in that second tweet that the official debut events for the Pokemon Obstagoon mascot costumes were revealed. These outfits, alongside the Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble outfits, will appear at events like Jump Festa 2020.

Obstagoon first appeared in Pokemon Sword and Shield. This is a Galar-specific evolution for the Galarian Zigzagoon line. In order to get one, you have to have a Galarian Linoone hit level up when they hit level 35 or higher at night. The character is extremely popular with Team Yell members.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are available for the Nintendo Switch.
