Starting with Nekkoala, the “Half-Awake” Normal-type Pokémon with the Definite Sleep ability that prevents it from being afflicted with a status other than sleep. The magazine also hints that the three new starters in Rowlet, Litten, Popplio all share a secret with Iwanko.

The cute pup Iwanko is a Rock-type Pokémon with Keen Eye or Vital Spirit abilities.
