We now have a confirmed release month for Pop Team Epic season 2. Studio Kamikaze Douga revealed that the second season of the anime adaptation will begin airing in October 2022. The announcement appeared as part of the ongoing AnimeJapan 2022 event. [Thanks, Dengeki!]
The announcement tweet featured the previously-released promotional image. The image is based on popular weekly magazines like Shonen Jump and prominently features Popuko and Pipimi. Notably, the tweet states that Pop Team Epic will “aim for supremacy once again”, and references popular manga series Takopi’s Original Sin. The press release states that further details will appear at a later date via the official homepage and social accounts.

Studio Kamikaze Douga confirmed the production of a second season back in December 2021. In addition to the above promotional image, it also released a new teaser trailer featuring singer and actor Shouta (SHOWTA) Aoi. Aoi played himself in two episodes of the first season and has also appeared in various other anime series.
Additionally, the Pop Team Epic booth at AnimeJapan 2022 will give out limited-edition shopping bags. The bags come in two varieties, both featuring illustrations of Popuko and Pipimi in a different design.

Pop Team Epic season 2 will release sometime in October 2022. It’s unconfirmed whether the next season will appear on streaming services in the West. The first season is available to watch on Crunchyroll and Funimation.
