Sitting on the Japan’s PlayStation Store and just waiting to be downloaded is a Patpon 2: Don Chaka demo. The single player trial campaign has three stages where players retrieve a wonder egg. Just like Patapon you move an army of walking eyeballs by making a beat with the face buttons. New to Patapon 2 are a number of multiplayer mini-games. One of them is included in this demo and you can play with others using the PSP’s game sharing feature.
One thing neat about the Patapon 2 demo is you earn items for your army that can be used with the final retail game. The Patapon demo had a carry over reward system too. I love demos that do this, it’s like a fan loyalty program. However, I wouldn’t expect the Japanese demo to be compatible with the US release! So, while cool it’s rendered useless unless you’re planning to import Patapon 2 when it comes out later this month.
