Final Fantasy IV was a shoe in for an international release. We knew it was coming, but on July 22? That fast? Square Enix isn’t wasting anytime here with a mere seven months between regions.
Differences? The announcement didn’t mention any episodes of Final Fantasy IV: The After or an option for the Japanese voices. There are some naming changes, though. The ability switching Decant system will be further known as the Augment System. Also Rydia’s new mini-game powered summon, Pochika, will be named Whytkin. I’m relieved Square Enix USA isn’t upping the difficulty like they did with Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings. There are times in Final Fantasy IV where you will die, especially if you memorized the boss patterns from any other release.
If you want to hear more about the experience check out my impressions from the Japanese version of Final Fantasy IV.
