Nintendo of Europe are getting creative with the marketing push for their niche Japanese titles on Wii. Xenoblade Chronicles, recently published in Europe, has been meet with a warm critical response, and NOE want to keep that to lead into The Last Story and Pandora’s Tower, both slated for a 2012 release.
Nintendo of Europe have launched a “Let’s Play Xenoblade Chronicles” contest, encouraging owners of the game to take video footage of it, showing why it’s enjoyable, and upload it to the contest website. The footage, they say, could be of an area or a side quest you enjoyed, or whatever else you can come up with, and shouldn’t be any longer than ten minutes. Look to these videos for an example.
At the end of October, five finalists will be chosen from all submitted entries, and then one final winner. The winning video will be uploaded to the game’s YouTube channel, and its creator will receive a voucher for both The Last Story and Pandora’s Tower, which they’ll be able to use to redeem the games once they’re released. The four runners-up will each receive a voucher for one of the two (of their choice).
The deadline for the contest is October 18th. Participants need to be 16 and up in age. You can read the rest of the contest rules at the website link above.
