PSN Playstation VR Sale Brings Deals on Iron Man and Hatsune Miku

Good news for owners of the Playstation VR hardware: A new sale is up on the PlayStation Network, and this time, it’s all for select PS VR titles. Fans can reap discounts of up to 60% on a large helping of the PS VR catalog, including some titles that can be played without the headset.

Since launching in 2016, the Playstation VR has become arguably the most popular of the major home-based virtual reality platforms. That said, the hardware is significantly less powerful, being based on the now-dated PS4 and its PS Move controllers rather than the rather more expensive setups demanded by PC-based competitors Oculus and Valve. This has meant that even a closed environment like the Playstation Network store has a goodly amount of PS VR games, which, as of now, are a bit cheaper to acquire.

Standout deals include a 25% discount off the recently released Marvel’s Iron Man VR. Those less inclined to become Tony Stark can consider 60% off Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X, which can be played like a normal, non-VR rhythm game most of the time. Fans who own the gun-shaped PS VR Aim Controller can also score copies of shooting games like Arizona Sunshine, Farpoint and Firewall: Zero Hour at impulse-buy prices, if they so choose. For me, the most compelling VR experiences involve the use of motion controls, though, which puts PS Move-based titles like Blood and Truth, Star Trek Bridge Crew, Superhot VR, and Tilt Brush at the head of the pack. There’s also the option to relax with The Tetris Effect, featuring the work of REZ creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi.

Incidentally, the PS VR sale is also running in other regions, so fans with the appropriate alternative PSN accounts can score titles that aren’t offered on the North American store. For example, the Southeast Asian PSN stores are offering large discounts for English-language editions of Summer Lesson, Bandai Namco’s intimacy simulator, which puts players in close proximity to a pretty, uncanny-looking anime schoolgirl.
