Resident Evil 4 VR Will Let You Dual Wield Weapons

At the April 2021 Oculus Gaming Showcase, people got another look at the Resident Evil 4 VR version heading to the Oculus Quest 2. This time, the details involved how the game will work. For example, people could teleport or move with analog sticks. Also, you’ll be able to have a weapon in each hand and use them to fight at the same time.

Both the showcase and the follow-up blog talked about and showed how it will work. People can go through a menu to set equipment and manage their items. However, the Resident Evil 4 VR version will allow people to grab and swap weapons and start dual wielding them by “taking” them off of Leon’s body. The video also showed how items found in the world, like ammo, herbs, and weapons, can be examined, grabbed, and reloaded, rather than just touched and picked up.

Here is the actual Oculus Quest April 2021 Showcase. The Resident Evil 4 VR portion begins at the 20:30 mark and talks about the ability to dual wield weapons./p>

Here’s a clip of footage from the game from the showcase.

As for movements, people can choose an option that would let someone click and teleport to locations. This would allow people to play without actually moving. Should someone want that extra experience, room-scale movement will also be an option so you can set the size of your space and actually walk around to move Leon in-game.

Resident Evil 4 will come to the Oculus Quest 2 in 2021.
