Earlier this year, Resident Evil as a whole had two big releases in the form of both Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and the final installment to its film franchise, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. The film franchise has had a fair amount of success at the box office, despite not being too popular with the game series’ fanbase.

Nonetheless, Constantin Film has announced that the film franchise, despite having just completed its final installment, will be getting a reboot in the future.

Speaking to Variety, Constantin Film’s chairman Martin Moszkowicz revealed that the film series is already green-lighted for a reboot, though details about possible directors or actors were not discussed. No release window was shared either, so it seems like it’ll be a bit of time before we hear any more about the film reboot again.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
