The River City Girls PS5 version has a release date. WayForward will release it on January 18, 2022. However, people with a PS4 copy won’t have to buy River City Girls again. There will be a free upgrade to the next-gen version for all current owners. Here’s WayForward’s official announcement. It confirmed this version of River City Girls will include some exclusive features. Specifically, it will support the DualSense 5 in some way. (This could mean haptic feedback or audio coming from the controller.) It also mentions PS5 Activities. This is the system’s feature that let you jump to a specific part of the game without actually playing to reach it.

This comes ahead of the River City Girls 2 debut. The sequel is set to come to the PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC in 2022. It will add new playable characters. River City Girls is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and the PS5 version will appear on January 18, 2022.
