During a recent “Unite 2017 Tokyo” seminar event that was held at the Tokyo International Forum, it was revealed that the PlayStation Vita version of Romancing SaGa 2 has surpassed 200,000 in digital sales.
Romancing SaGa 2’s PS Vita remaster was a subject of a lecture during the event, where technical director Naoto Yoshioka talked about how it was thanks to having data from the 2010 mobile phone version of Romancing SaGa 2 that they were able to smoothly port the game to PS Vita and smartphone.
Art director and ArtePIzza president Shintaro Majima shared his two cents about working on remasters, saying that this work is different from making something new, as it requires you to think more about how to reinterpret a previous work.
They concluded the lecture by saying that Romancing SaGa 2’s remaster was well-received, and digital sales for the PS Vita version surpassed 200,000. Majima said they were able to reconfirm that many fans were waiting for Romancing SaGa 2 on various platforms.
Romancing SaGa 2’s remaster is currently available on PlayStation Vita in Japan and smartphones worldwide. The English PS Vita version still needs “a few more months” last we heard in December.
