It has been since XSEED Games said much about Edelweiss’ Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin. It featured prominently at E3 2019, even showing up during a Nintendo Treehouse segment, but hasn’t appeared too often since then. We know it’ll arrive in 2020, though! And now we also know that Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin physical copies will be available for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
People will be able to choose between standard and collector’s editions. The standard model will be $39.99. Should someone go with a Divine Edition, they’ll get the game and lots of extras for $59.99.
The Divine Edition Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin physical copies begin with a copy of the game, of course. People also get a 130 page art book. The full soundtrack, which consists of 42 songs, will appear in a three-CD set. There will also be an omamori good luck charm.
Since it has been a while since it has been shown off, here’s the E3 2019 Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin trailer. It sets the stage by introducing Princess Sakuna, a spoiled harvest goddess who has been exiled from the heavens and sent to banish demons from an island. Basically, she’s being forced to fend for herself and work for the first time, which means you’ll fight and farm.
Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC “later in 2020.” The Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 retail copies will be available through XSEED Games and other companies.
