School Days Haunted House to Appear on Christmas Eve

Though Christmas and Halloween are two entirely different events, those in Japan will have the chance to mix them with a School Days visual novel haunted house. Kowagarase-Tai (Scaring Corps), a haunted house production company, will offer “Makoto The Real” in its Screambulances from December 24, 2021 at the Fuji Soft Akihabara building in Akihabara, Tokyo. It will cost 2000 JPY (around $17.60) for one person. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

The School Days haunted house will put you in the role of Makoto Ito, who is on a date with Kotonoha Katsura. Things do not end well, befitting the Makoto experience. According to the website, Kotonoha will actually attack the car at the end of the audio part. Aside from Kotonoha and Makoto, the main girls from School Days will appear, with the original cast reprising their roles.

Scaring Corps’s Screambulance is a haunted house delivery service. You can make reservations online for them to visit your house. The Screambulance is also available in places such as amusement parks or shopping centers. It uses 3D sound and 4DX technology, such as shaking seats and spraying water. Originally, it was a drive-in service, developed due to pandemic-related concerns.

School Days first came out in 2005 as a visual novel, with an anime airing in 2007. It follows the story of Makoto Ito, who falls in love with Kotonoha Katsura. His classmate, Sekai Saionji, helps him get together with Kotonoha. Ironically, since she developed feelings for Makoto herself, this leads to Sekai becoming jealous of Kotonoha. School Days is known for its psychological horror elements and graphic violence.

The School Days haunted house will be available from December 24, 2021 until January 23, 2022 in Akihabara. It will only appear on weekends and holidays.
