This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine contains an interview with the developers of Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, and some of the information from said feature has leaked out beforehand. (Thanks, Hachima Kiko)

Famitsu reports that Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem will feature characters from Fire Emblem: Awakening as well as Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light. Characters from both games will appear as heroes as well as villains.

Character selection was apparently done through character popularity polls and such. You’ll see the likes of Cain and Abel in the game. Famitsu also say that characters that appeared as enemies in Fire Emblem will appear as enemies in Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem. (We reported this during E3)

Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem’s main story will take around 30 hours to complete according to the developers, although this doesn’t account for side stories and other extras. That content will apparently amount to another 30 hours.

Currently, the game is in the process of being balanced and bug-tested. All content and features are already in place.

Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem will be released for Wii U in 2016. While the game is technically a crossover of sorts between the Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem franchises, it is being positioned as an RPG that newcomers to both series can enjoy.
