Nippon Ichi Software’s newest title Shoujo Jigoku no Doku Musume has a brand new teaser website! Shoujo Jigoku is an action RPG for the Nintendo Switch and the PlayStation 4. Currently, the game is in development.
At the time, the website has a very simple design, with a lot of toxic pinks and purples. However, we are finally getting a look at the titular Doku Musume, or Poison Maiden. Here’s a look at her in all her purple and pink glory!
Currently, the teaser site doesn’t offer a lot of information. However, the website does ask that interested fans check out Famitsu magazine’s March 26 release, which releases on March 12, 2020.
Excitingly, another piece of art was released alongside the new teaser site. This new art shows the hero and the Poison Maiden standing in a field of spider lilies with Tokyo Tower in the background.
Interestingly, the game’s logo also features a stylized spider lily, as does the art featuring the main two characters. In Japan, spider liles are a symbol of death. You can often see them blooming in September. Also, they symbolize longing, abandonment, and lost memories.
Spider Lilies are also an incredibly poisonous flower from stem to petal. Eating any part of them can cause a wide variety of reactions. In Japan, this bloom is also known as a Dokubana, or literally “poison flower”. Safe to say that these toxic flowers suit Shoujo Jigoku’s female lead!
Shoujo Jigoku no Doku Musume will launch on June 25, 2020 for the Switch and PS4. You can check out the official website here. Currently, NIS has not announced plans for localization. Additionally, the game is now avaliable for pre-order at various retailers in Japan, including Amazon Japan, Bic Camera, Neowing, Rakuten, and Yodobashi.
