Sony’s 5-pronged strategy to competing effectively in the games market revolves around the following:

1. Motion controller
2. Blu-ray discs
3. Playstation Network
4. PSP Linkage
5. 3D games

With regard to Playstation Network, Sony’s briefing summary mentions the service has 33 million registered users worldwide. Going forward, part of the plan is to expand the PSN by “Integrating attractive hardware, including new mobile products and other consumer electronics, with networked services.” Hmm…whatever could they be talking about?

The summary also mentions expanding Sony’s lineup of network-connected products and specifies a target install base of 350 million units by the end of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2013.
