Last night, Sqaure Enix announced in the latest issue of Famitsu magazine that they’re working with tri-Ace on the latest installment of their sci-fi RPG series with Star Ocean 5. The game’s been officially revealed on their website, with a video looking back at the series.

The video starts out with a quote talking about humanity’s next page in history that began with a step into the forever expanding ocean of stars. It then shares a chronological order of the series, starting with Star Ocean 4 which takes place in Space Date 10.

Next, they jump to Space Date 346, where the story of the first Star Ocean unfolds. Following is Star Ocean 2 that takes place shortly after in Space Date 366 andshows some memorable clips with Claude Kenni and Rena Lanford.

Space Date 772 is where the events of Star Ocean 3 takes place, and it marks the beginning of the “end of time”. Finally, they show Space Date 537, which will tell the story of encounters and farewells, a story about the fate of a new planet—Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness.
