Square Enix Compares Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and FFVII Buggy Screenshots

Square Enix has been sharing Final Fantasy VII and FFVII Rebirth screenshots, and the latest two compare the Buggy. The vehicle appeared as one of the early means of getting around the world map in the original game. In the remake, it shows up again serving the same purpose, only with a redesigned appearance that makes it look more like a traditional car.

Next, here’s the screenshot showing how the Buggy looks in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, with some of the FFVII design elements preserved. There’s a more truck-like appearance to it, though it still has four pairs of wheels on it. It is also open on top, like a pickup truck or jeep, compared to the enclosed original version.

The Buggy is one of two returning vehicles confirmed for the second part of the trilogy. Square Enix also noted that the Tiny Bronco plane would return. Like the Buggy, it allows the party access to areas they couldn’t normally reach on foot. However, while the Tiny Bronco’s appearance is confirmed, Square Enix still hasn’t said anything about its owner Cid Highwind yet.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will come to the PS5 on February 29, 2024, with the exclusivity arrangement ending on May 29, 2024. FFVII Remake is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC.
