Studio 4°C are making quite the name for themselves in the West via a healthy relationship with Warner Bros. Their first major project with the media giant was The Animatrix in 2003, followed by two episodes of Batman: Gotham Knight in 2008. Shortly after, came two episodes of Halo: Legends released in home video formats in February of 2010.

Now, 4°C are being contracted to helm another WB project in the form of a ThunderCats revival. According to Warner Bros., “A sweeping tale combining swords and science and boasting ferocious battles with the highest of stakes, the grand origin story of Prince Lion-O’s ascension to the throne — and of those who would thwart his destiny at any cost — takes on epic dimensions in this sharp new telling.”

Unlike previous collaborations between Warner and 4°C, ThunderCats will sport a more traditional anime art style. Michael Jelenic (Batman: The Brave and the Bold) and Ethan Spaulding (Avatar: The Last Airbender) are filling the role of producers for the show.
