As predicted Sega is bringing Let’s Tap abroad. Prope’s first retail project is slated to come out here and Europe sometime this summer. Let’s Tap isn’t a single Wii game, it’s a package of four different games plus a set of visualizers that are played by tapping on a cardboard box holding a Wii remote. The remote picks up vibrations from the box and translates them into on screen actions.
Take Tap Runner as an example. You tap lightly on the box to make your runner dash. Hit the box hard and your runner jumps. The game is a simple race, but with a group of people Tap Runner is a blast. In Japan, Let’s Tap was sold as a discounted game, about $20 less than the average Wii game over there. Sega has not announced a price for North America, but I wouldn’t expect Sega to charge $50 at your neighborhood video game store. Maybe, the game and it’s catchy theme song will retail here for $29.99.
