Klei Entertainment’s Don’t Starve Together  is attempting to survive on Steam Early Access for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

It’s the standalone multiplayer expansion to Klei’s wilderness survival game hit Don’t Starve. It essentially takes the game online, where you can attempt to forage for berries with friends in private games, or place your trust in strangers.

As with Don’t Starve, the game incorporates both roguelike and survival game elements to bring a harshness to the game’s visually dark and gnarled, almost gothic-style world. It has permadeath, crafting, real-time combat system, and lots of unlockable characters.

You’ll want to find shelter, food, and weapons in Don’t Starve Together, using the company and wisdom of other players to survive for as many days as possible. It’s best to work quickly during the day in order to give yourself the best chances of surviving the creepy crawlies and beasts of the night.

Don’t Starve Together is sold in twos (one for you, one for a friend) and costs $4.99 for owners of Don’t Starve. There’s a Frontier Pack being sold for $19.99 that includes a copy of Don’t Starve and two copies of Don’t Starve Together.
