When Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris launches, it will introduce an entirely new heroine to the game’s cast: Medina Orthinanos. While Bandai Namco did briefly introduce her back in September 2019 and show off her character art, a new video with Miho Okasaki, her voice actress, offers a lot more insight into the woman and her motivations in the game.
The Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris video begins with Okasaki introducing herself and expressing her enthusiasm about portraying Medina. She reminds people that Medina is the ninth head of the Orthinanos family and is attempting to restore their honor by fighting. Medina meets Kirito after she comes to the swordcraft academy, from Rulid Village, to become an Integrity Knight. She describes her as an “aggressive fighter,” but “calm person.” She said she initially had trouble deciding how to play her, until she learned more about Medina and learned more about the story. Okasaki describes the warrior as someone who “thinks too hard about things and gets herself into more and more trouble.”
