PlayStation 3 owners are probably too busy playing Metal Gear Solid 4 to notice the PlayStation Store update which added a PsOne game to the classics selection. A downloadable copy of Metal Gear Solid could have piggybacked on the Solid Snake fever, but instead Sony chose to release another stealth action game, Syphon Filter 3. I guess Sony is saving the original Metal Gear Solid adventure for a rainy day in North America because it's already out in Japan. Like the other PlayStation Archives on the US Store it costs $5.99 and can be played on the PSP too.
Strangely, Sony passed on releasing Syphon Filter 2 as a digital download. If you want to play the entire PsOne trilogy you have to hunt for a used copy of Syhpon Filter 2.
