Sega’s upcoming RPG, Shining Ark, has plenty to offer outside the naval battles. Lets take a look at Azel Village, and what it has to offer.
The time passes as you wander in the village. The sun rises and sets during the course of your play. Players will be able to change the time simply by sleeping in their homes. There will be events that activate only during certain times of the day and night.
The above image shows players talking to an NPC during the evening. The sun icon above his head indicates that he has something to say, but only during daytime. When it gets too late at night, Panis will also leave your party to get some rest.
Ezel Village is a port town known for fishing, and it wouldn’t be right to have our heroes stay there without the opportunity to fish, right?
In the business of tackle, some big ones get away. Catch them effectively by visiting several fishing hot spots during different times. Freed’s fishing skills can also be increased, allowing him to catch rare fish.
Panis can also help enhance your fishing luck with the help of her magical songs. Jinga the half-beast warrior is apparently a fisherman himself. When Freed’s fishing skills meet the requirements, Jinga will allow him to keep the fish he catches.
Players can also grow their own crops by visiting Adam’s Garden.
Adam is your friendly neighborhood robot gardener. Collect seeds and give them to Adam, as he will do all the hard work for you.
There are many seeds that can grow into different fruits and vegetables. Growing plenty of crops will allow Freed to bake a variety of breads. Panis’ magical singing comes in handy once again, this time by increasing crop yields with her lovely voice.
Mayor Galzee gives you a stamp card which is used for rewarding players for doing good deeds.
There are many ways to earn stamps. You can take on requests or do simple favors for villagers. Occasionally, the local shop owners will give you a stamp, simply as a way to show customer appreciation. When a total of 10 stamps are collected, they can be exchanged for rewards from Galzee.
Shining Ark will set sails on February 28th, 2013 for the PSP.
