Take Pictures with Link from Tears of the Kingdom in Japan

A statue of Link as he appears in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will appear in Japan for people to take pictures alongside temporarily. There will be a staggered schedule, and the photo op spot will only be in each city for a short period of time. It will first become available from April 29, 2023.

The statue of Link that will be at the photo ops is one that Nintendo previously used in Nintendo Live events. It shows Link holding his hand out while his cape billows behind him. The schedule for the photo op with this status is as follows:

  • Niconico Super Meeting 2023 (Makuhari Messe, Chiba)
    April 29, 2023 (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
    April 30, 2023 (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Akiba
    May 6-11, 2023 (9:30 AM – 10:00 PM)
  • Osaka Station City Atrium Square
    May 13, 2023 (9:00 AM – 9:00 PM)
    May 14, 2023 (8:00 AM – 9:00 PM)

It is free to take pictures either with or of Link at the various The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom booths. Technically speaking, however, those who want to go to the Chiba location will first need to purchase a ticket for the Niconico Super Meeting 2023 event. But otherwise, you do not need to pay a fee in order to pose with Link.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will come out on May 12, 2023. The themed OLED Switch model for it will launch on April 28, 2023.
