Players are a savior with the Stonecanting ability. This allows them to summon characters from the Tales of series from Hero Stones to fight in battles. Up to nine characters can be placed in your party and equipped with items. You drag your finger along characters with the same color and shape underneath them to create a chain of damage to enemies as part of the touch-link battle system. Major characters retain arts, which improve as they’re used.

While Tales of Link is free-to-play, people can spend real money on Hero Stones to summon additional characters. These stones can also be earned by playing the game and completing missions.
