In the latest behind-the-scenes interview for Tekken 7, Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata took the opportunity to ask Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada who is better at fishing between Noctis and Lars.
We get to see Noctis and Lars fishing together at the end of the trailer, and Tabata says they have an idea just how good Noctis is at fishing so he’s been wondering how good is Lars.
Harada starts out by explaining that he doesn’t know much about fishing, but that particular scene generated far more of a response than expected, including responses from players who really liked to fish and found the rod grip of the two interesting.
In the end, Harada says that since Noctis looks more relaxed leaning back while Lars leans forward a bit, we can assume that he barely started learning. Tabata says that it’s the same for Noctis, but he may have slightly more experience.
Harada was worried at first that they might’ve given Lars some kind of powerful veteran grip or something, but they both used the single-finger grip which is considered a beginner’s grip, so it worked out for everyone as that was the impression Tabata and the others at Square Enix had of Lars and his fishing skills.
Tekken 7 and Final Fantasy XV are available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
