Tekken 7 chief producer Katsuhiro Harada recently talked about one of the new character, Lucky Chloe, and how they wanted to maker her “different”. Speaking with Famitsu, Harada shared more on the subject of new characters for the game.

During the interview, Famitsu asks the producer if he could share more behind what they aim to do with the new character, Claudio Serafino, the first Italian fighter introduced in the series.

“Claudio’s setting and story parts will be very important,” responds Harada. “We’ve been needing an existence that can stand against the power of the “Devil” that we’ve seen throughout the story settings and series.”

“We originally had plans to have a setting with “an organization that was put together to defeat the Devil, but that eventually turned into the character of Claudio,” he continues. “By the way, currently, we have four new characters, but later on we’ll continue to add them through updates, so look forward to it!”

Famitsu asks him to share a little more on the character additions.

“We don’t plan on reducing the number of characters, so yes, we’re thinking of adding more,” says Harada. “We’d also like to have those who’ve kept playing the series up until now to play with a fresh sense of feeling.”

With 20 characters in the game at its release, Famitsu asks if we can expect to keep seeing more from here onward.

“Again, I can’t say which characters, but we’ll keep steadily adding pre-existing characters, so look forward to that as well,” adds Harada.

Tekken 7 is currently available for arcade, and is in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
