Tekken 8 Feedback Was So Positive it Made Harada Nervous

As part of an interview posted to Bandai Namco America’s Youtube channelTekken 8 Director Katsuhiro Harada stated that the feedback has been so overwhelmingly positive that it made him nervous. The statement was made during episode 2 of “Tekken Talk,” which was hosted by Kasumi “Sumichu” Yogi. The statement was prompted by Yogi asking Harada about the feedback he received from fans at events where Tekken 8 was playable. Murray then translated and relayed Harada’s answer:

“All the feedback we received from the players and the community was overwhelmingly positive. It [sic] was actually a bit nervous because it was so positive. We’re not used to this (laughter).”

You can watch the full episode of “Tekken Talk” below, with the question being asked at the 20:34 mark and Murray’s translated answer appearing at 22:50.

The guests also discussed the upcoming closed network test, where those selected will be able to try out 16 of the different characters in Tekken 8 on PS5 and later on the PC and Xbox Series X as well. Back in May 2023, Harada also attended Combo Breaker 2023, where he drew Chun Li and Mai Shiranui.

Tekken 8 does not currently have a release date, but when it releases it will be available on the PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X. A closed beta test will be held on July 21, 2023 for the PS5 and July 28, 2023 for all platforms. However, registration for the beta is currently closed.
