Text Input Device works with Xbox 360 MMOs

I just got word that the Xbox 360 text input device works with ALL texting on the Xbox 360. Before I was on the fence about the usefulness of the TID since I’m not certain I’m going to be sending IMs while playing games, but there is a real use for the TID. Since the text input device works with any text input on the Xbox 360 you can use it with Final Fantasy XI, Phantasy Star Universe and potentially future MMOs. One of the problems with FFXI on the 360 is you were required to obtain a USB keyboard to communicate with others, which makes control cumbersome since you have to switch between the two input devices. However, since the TID attaches on the bottom of the controller it’s much easier to send messages using the TID than holding a keyboard in your lap. Hopefully, the text input device will encourage game developers to bring more MMOs to the 360 in the future since gamers will have two options to communicate: voice chat and the TID.
