Fans have been busy working on the Mother 4 fangame for quite a long time (see our 2015 article for starters), but a new trailer has released, with the game officially renamed Oddity.

That said, the game will keep its original premise and story, starring young boy Travis Fields and his friends in the Seventies. On an impromptu camping trip, they accidentally blow up a “Gate” that inadvertently causes a world crisis. The moon’s covered in ooze, and a secret society called “Modern Men” is running amok. Along the way, Travis and his friends discover new powers, meet eccentric characters, and end up saving the world.

As the team behind the game puts it – If you’re looking for a roadtrip full of oddball characters and serious challenge with lots of heart… then Oddity is for you!

You can check out the trailer above. There’s no release window this time, only the assurance that it will come out when ready. It’s been a long time since ‘Winter 2014’, after all.

Oddity is in development for PC.
