E-Smile previously released this slacker RPG, titled Ore ni Hatarakette Iwaretemo Otsu (Even If You Tell Me To Work) back on PSP and eventually to PlayStation Vita in higher-res. The latest port brings the slacker adventure to smartphone.
In Ore ni Hatarakette Iwaretemo Otsu, you play as a NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) who has enjoyed his time living in as a shut-in for most of his life, while leeching off his parents. That is until he faced the ultimate dilemma… after a certain incident, he no longer has the financial benefits of his parents.
Since our hero is a proud NEET, getting a job would mean losing in life, but he’s facing the crisis of not being able to pay rent, and he’s not exactly capable of venturing outside the village of Aldebaran to explore the world of Etoile in order to explore dungeons to get loot for money.
That’s when gets the brilliant idea to act as a middleman, by hiring adventures to do the monster slaying and dungeon exploring for him, as he takes in a percentage of the reward.
In Ore ni Hatarakette Iwaretemo Otsu Mobile, it’s pretty much the same story as the PSP and Vita versions, where you’ll need to manage your teams of hired adventurers in a dungeon crawler puzzle game-like fashion, which can get pretty tricky.
You can check out our earlier report on how the game plays on the PlayStation Vita. Ore ni Hatarakette Iwaretemo Otsu Mobile is currently available in Japan for iPhone for 600 yen, and will release for Android later this year.
