Them’s Fightin’ Herds, the 2D fighting game that began as a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fan-game and turned into an original project with character designs from Lauren Faust, has launched on Early Access. People can now find the $14.99 game on Humble Bundle and Steam.

In Them’s Fightin’ Herds, the people of Foenum are in danger, as the Predators are about to come back into their world. Each nation has sent a candidate to become the Key Keeper and keep these carnivorous characters locked out. The base game on Early Access has Paprika the alpaca, Arizona the calf, Pom the sheep, Tianhuo the longma, Velvet the deer and Oleander the unicorn unlocked, though a goat character was among the crowdfunded stretch goals and the product listing says more DLC fighters, as well as modes and cosmetic options, are on the way.

The Early Access version of Them’s Fightin’ Herds has a number of things already available. There are local multiplayer and online matches, with GGPO-power behind them. Pixel Lobbies are in, with customizable characters and the Salt Mines PvE dungeon. The Arcade Mode is also available. In addition, cosmetic items inspired by BlazBlue: Central Fiction, Guilty Gear Xrd: Rev 2 and Skullgirls unlock in the Pixel Lobby if people own the games on Steam.
