On consoles, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon is a reboot of the Ace Combat series, and emphasizes “agonizing death by blazing wings.” The iPhone version, however, is another matter.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon/Trigger Finger has you use your iPhone like a toy plane, and touch the screen to fire bullets or missiles. There are two planes you can choose from: the Su-33 Flanker and the Typhoon.

The emphasis here is on two-player multiplayer that you carry out with a friend in “make-believe” dogfights, and Trigger Finger will detect your environment through the iPhone camera and use it as the backdrop for your dogfight. The game even makes all the sound effects for you!

Believe it or not, yes, this is developed by Project Aces. But it’s also free and meant as a Christmas present to fans, so don’t come down too hard on them.
