Battle of Tiles EX has giant battles, but instead of troops running all over the place like in Dragon Force units in this game are game pieces. Heroes and monsters are tiles you can move in place to defeat the computer. There are tiles that represent common small fry enemies like slimes, skeletons, and goblins. Defeat these and you earn gold which can be used to purchase monsters for your army.

Bimboosoft is bringing Battle of Tiles EX to PlayStation Network on January 24 as a 1,200 yen download. A free trial will also be available on Japan’s PlayStation Store. Battle of Tiles EX has not been announced for any other region, but you can play the original game – in English. Bimboosoft originally made Battle of Tiles for PC, which you can try and/or buy right here.
