Usually there’s a new King of Fighters game released every year, but in 2007 we’re going to see at least three. King of Fighters XII is supposedly going to conclude the “Tales of Ash” arc and is going to be released on the Taito Type X2 arcade system instead of the Atomiswave arcade boards the previous system used. King of Fighters XII is also going to have all new sprites instead of the reused ones from the previous games. Also coming to the arcades is King of Fighters Maximum Impact Regulation A the first version of the 3D Maximum Impact series to come to the arcades. It is also gong to be on the Taito Type-X2 arcade system and it has an additional character in the series, Ash Crimson. Finally for fans of the series SNK is going to release King of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match for the Playstation 2.
