The creators of pixel-art action adventure Tower of Samsara have released three minutes of alpha footage from the game. It has also been announced that the game will be on Kickstarter on May 3rd 2016.

The first bunch of information about the game has also arrived. Apparently, the person you see in the alpha footage isn’t a character, it represents you, the player.

It’s also said that the game mixes Buddhism, the solar system, and philosophy into its adventure. For example, the cave you can see in that footage is representative of Plato’s allegory of the cave – it’s designed to test you, and when you break you you’ll be able to see the world for what it really is.

Here’s more of what the creators of Tower of Samsara have to say about it:

“As the wheel of life, that spins indefinitely, will be the challenges that take the player through the planets of the solar system, collecting good karma, until reach of nirvana. The game has a unique spatial-medieval aesthetics, and will feature collaboration between players – you can share a haiku with players on the same map.”
